5 Days Guizhou Miao Sisters’ Meal Festival Tour

In China, Sisters’ Meal Festival is an important festival for the Miao people. It’s a celebration of love and spring. It is considered as the oldest “Valentine’s Day” in China. It kicks off on the 15th day of the lunar 3rd month and lasts for 3 days.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Guiyang Arrival

Sightseeing and Activities:

Upon your arrival, tour guide will pick you up from Guiyang airport or train station and then transfer to Kaili. It will take about 2.5 hours.

Day 2 Kaili – Zhenyuan

Sightseeing and Activities: Shidong Town, Zhenyuan Ancient Town
Accommodation: Zhenyuan
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

In the morning, drive about 2 hours to Shidong Town to attend the annual Sisters’ Meal Festival. There are different colored rice, beautiful ethnic costumes, and singing and dancing between single men and women. It offers opportunities for young people to find their marriage partners.

In the afternoon, drive about 1.5 hours to Zhenyuan ancient town. It has long been an ancient town of the Miao people with more than 160 scenic spots including caves, palaces, pavilions, temples and rivers with their unique architecture, exquisite engravings and marvelous natural landscape. Overnight in Zhenyuan.

Day 3 Zhenyuan – Kaili

Sightseeing and Activities: Qinglong Cave, Sisters’ Meal Festival
Accommodation: Kaili
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast, visit Qinglong Cave or Black Dragon Cave, which is a group of Buddhist and Taoist temples along the Wuyang River. Enjoy yourselves in the culture museum of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism.

In the afternoon, drive back to Shidong to enjoy some more activities of the Sisters’ Meal Festival. Afterwards drive back to Kaili.

Day 4 Kaili – Xijiang

Sightseeing and Activities: Matang Village, Qingman Village, Shiqiao Miao Village
Accommodation: Xijiang

In the morning, drive to Matang Village, which is an unrecognized nationality with Hou Yi as their ancestors. It is famous for exotic attires, colorful festivals and countryside feelings.

Then head to Qingman Village, which is one of the most prominent and populated Miao Villages within the Province. See the Miao ladies dressed in their beautiful and colorful dresses along with their traditional headdresses and silver accessories.

Afterwards, visit Shiqiao Miao Village. The Miao people there still lives a self-sufficient living style. The village is renowned for traditional paper-making. It is a nice place to experience and learn the traditional paper-making.

After all the visit, drive to Xijiang for overnight. Appreciate the night view of Xijiang.

Day 5 Xijiang – Guiyang

In the morning, explore Xijiang Miao Village, the largest Miao village in Asia. There are 12 natural villages, 1200 families and 6000 people, who dwell in wooden houses built by their hands.

Appreciate an amazing view of the nature and experience the local life here.

Then drive 2.5 hours to Guiyang for your flight or train. Service ends.
